With the soaring prices of gas, people are beginning to pay close attention to their gas consumption and search for ways to increase their mileage. Over the years many studies have been conducted on which gas saving tips work best and which have little to no impact what so ever. In this article you will discover the top 10 gas saving tips to help keep more money in your pocket.

Gas Saving Tip #1: Convert your car to a Hydrogen Hybrid.
If you have done any research online within the past year on gas saving tips you have probably ran across websites offering Hydrogen Kits for cars and trucks. These are DIY kits that can be built for less then $100 using parts found at your local Home Depot. If you are not familiar with these kits I highly recommend checking them out. Many people claim to increase their gas mileage by 35 – 40%.

Gas Saving Tip #2: Keep your tires properly inflated.
Buy a quality tire gauge and check the pressure of your tires. Make sure they are inflated according to the manufactures recommendations. Under inflated tires require additional horsepower to rotate, thus consuming more gas. Most cars list the recommend tire pressure on a plate on the inside driver’s door. If you cannot locate it their it will be listed in the owner’s manual.

Gas Saving Tip #3: Lighten up your load by removing unnecessary weight.
Don’t go crazy and rip out your back seats or the insulation but get rid of anything in your trunk, glove box or in the back of your car that you absolutely don’t need. Shedding off weight allows your engine to not work as hard to accelerate the car forward thus using less fuel. This won’t be a huge savings unless you make it a habit of keeping your trunk full of crap – but every bit helps and will add up.

Gas Saving Tip #4: Slow down Mario Andretti
Accelerating aggressively forces your vehicle to use maximum gas to achieve your desired speed. Many test have proven that gradual acceleration has a significant impact on your gas consumption so slow down and see what kind of saving you achieve.

Gas Saving Tip #5: Turn on cruise control when you can.

You will get your best mileage when using your cruise control but only is you are traveling on a straight road without hills. If there is minimal traffic and you are on a long stretch of highway then turn it on and reap the rewards. Using cruise control in high traffic or roads with hill will have the opposite effect due to the car constantly accelerating/de-accelerating to maintain your set speed.

Gas Saving Tip #6: Fill up at the coolest time of day.
Fuel is denser when it’s cool so filling up in the morning or late evening will allow more fuel in your tank.

Gas Saving Tip #7: Remove bicycle or ski racks when not being used.
Not only will removing the extra weight help but more important you will be reducing the drag making your vehicle more aerodynamic. This could have a significant savings over a long trip.

Gas Saving Tip #8: How about carpooling?
This is not always the preferred method due to inconvenient sometimes, but it’s the single most efficient way to reduce your monthly fuel cost.

Gas Saving Tip #9: Cash in by getting a credit card with 5% rebates on gas,
Here is an easy way to knock off 5% off your fuel cost by using it for all your fill ups.

Gas Saving Tip #10: Give your car a tune up.

This is only beneficial if your vehicle is due for a tune-up so don’t go out and spend money on a tune up if you just had one several thousand miles ago.

Landscaping, which involves beautifying the surroundings with plants , can be a lucrative business. They key to this business is balance and the right combination of plants. To achieve this, you generally have to move a lot of plants and gardening equipments around. With the current gas price increases, gas consumption can eat out from your income. You are left with compromising your balance and the right combination of plants. The good news is, you can still achieve the right blend and still earn your usual income. The best way to beat gas price increases is by using gas cards. There are already a number of landscapers and landscaping companies who are saving money on gas by using credit cards.

When you think of credit cards, you would generally think of interests. Well, you are right to think of interest since gas credit cards do carry an annual percentage rate. And if you own a business, you will be wary of interest payments. However, gas credit cards promises to offer you opportunities for bigger savings.

Gas credit cards is just like you ordinary credit cards only that you save every time you use it to pay for gas purchases. This type of card offers rebates for every gas purchase, usually from 2% to 5%. These rebates are accumulated in the form of rewards points which can be converted into cash back or other types of rewards. Depending on the card company, the other types of rewards are airline tickets, products and gift certificates. While all these types of rewards are equally good, it is the cash back reward that offers more opportunities for savings. Once you use a cash back reward to pay for gas purchases, you earn rewards on it too. This way, you earn double rewards. And, if you continue to use your cash back rewards on gas purchases, you will be looking at a gas savings of up to 20%.

To fully max up your savings from using gas credit cards, all you have to do is pay your bill in full and on time to avoid being charged with the annual percentage rate.

When you go looking for a gas card for your landscaping business, be sure to get one that offers the highest percentage rebate. You may also want to check the form of rewards that the card offers. For more savings opportunities, go for cards that offer only cash backs. But if you are a frequent flier, then gas credit cards that offer airline tickets as rewards will appeal to you. Do not only check the percentage rebate and rewards form, check on how you redeem them as well. What is a reward if you can’t use them? Some companies have rebate caps so you may want to stay away from them and take note of expiration periods so you do not miss out on your rewards. Lastly, if you plan to maintain a balance on your card, get a card that offers the lowest APR since this interest can easily undermine your savings.

Gas cards can be a big gas saving opportunity for your landscaping business. Don’t miss out on this opportunity and start looking for the right gas card now.

Natural gas has been the fuel of choice for the UKs energy requirements for over 27 years now; this is reflected in the fact that we are the world’s third largest consumer of natural gas.

With both usage and prices on the increase it’s vital that every homeowner is aware of steps they can take to make their homes’ as efficient as possible.

The most obvious way to save money on gas bills is to use less, what may not be as obvious though, is just how much you can save. Simply putting on a jumper and turning your thermostat down a few degrees could save you up to 10% on your bill!

As warm air naturally flows to cooler areas, it’s vital your house has adequate insulation. Places that require the most insulation are attics and areas above unheated rooms (e.g. garages, basement).

Drawing your curtains during the colder months and at night is a simple method to help keep a considerable amount of heat in.

As a great deal of heat is lost through windows and doors, double glazing is an excellent preventative measure to take. Although expensive to implement, they can make a considerable difference to the amount of heat you retain, and thus gas saved.

If you suspect your heating system may not be as efficient as it should then it’s advisable to get a CORGI registered engineer to come and check your gas suppliers central heating system.

All of the above will help make your home more “efficient”, you may however, still be paying through the teeth from your current gas suppliers. Moving to a new gas suppliers may therefore be an excellent way to ensure you are getting the best deal available.
